Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage

This limited edition marks the 40th anniversary of a legendary bottling and features a doubled “marriage” period (from 3 to 6 months) to showcase what extra maturation can achieve in harmony and smoothness. With only 6,900 bottles released in certain markets at 51.4% ABV, it stands out as both a collector’s item and a highly drinkable expression of Nikka’s blending legacy.

Aromas of soft oak, dark chocolate and ripe stone fruit are uplifted by fresh orange peel and malted barley sweetness. On the palate it delivers a rich, full-bodied experience marked by caramelised apple, honeysuckle and gentle spice, balanced by fine oak tannins. The finish is long and refined with subtle bitterness, woody warmth and a lingering echo of vanillin and dark fruit. To enjoy, serve neat in a tulip or Glencairn glass so the layers unfurl naturally. If the proof or oak feels assertive, a few drops of water will help open the fruit and honeyed notes without diminishing the precision of the blend.
