On the nose, this cask strength expression greets you with a rush of vibrant peat smoke, layered with citrus oils, sea salt, and hints of chargrilled lemon. There’s an underlying sweetness (think caramelized malt and ripe pineapple) balanced by earthy undertones of damp oak and beach bonfire ash. The palate is rich and mouth-coating, delivering bold flavours of smouldering peat, cracked pepper, and toasted barley, lifted by bright notes of green apple and lime. With a few drops of water, the whisky opens up beautifully, revealing softer vanilla, subtle stone fruits, and a creamy, smoky depth. The finish is long and warming, leaving behind echoes of peat embers, brine, and a gentle spice.
