Rocca Delle Macìe Chianti Classico DOCG

Rocca delle Macìe was founded in 1973 in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti Classico region and has become one of the area’s most recognized producers. The estate focuses on combining traditional Tuscan winemaking with modern vineyard management, producing wines that express the character of Sangiovese and the rolling hills of Chianti.

Chianti Classico DOCG is centered on Sangiovese, often supported by small amounts of other permitted red varieties depending on the blend. Vineyards are planted on galestro and limestone-rich soils, which contribute freshness, minerality, and structure.

Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, followed by ageing in a combination of oak barrels and larger casks to soften tannins and add subtle spice while preserving the wine’s regional identity.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Medium ruby with garnet reflections
Nose: Aromas of cherry, raspberry, and dried plum, with notes of violet, spice, dried herbs, and light earth
Palate: Medium-bodied, with vibrant acidity and fine tannins; flavours of red fruit, savoury herbs, and subtle oak spice create balance and complexity
Finish: Clean and persistent, with lingering cherry, spice, and earthy undertones

Cellaring & Pairings
Enjoy now or cellar for 5–8 years to allow further integration and development.

Pairs well with tomato-based pasta dishes, grilled meats, and roasted poultry. Also complements pizza, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, and aged Pecorino cheese.
