Stonestreet 2018 Bear Point Cabernet Sauvignon

Stonestreet 2018 Bear Point Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Bear Point Vineyard has more medicinal herb on the nose as well as notes of menthol, fresh sage, dark mineral earth, and compact black cherry. The palate is fleshy through the mid-palate, with the structure coming together to lend more savory richness. The finish is long and gives way to its mineral profile. - Jeb Dunnuck

Stonestreet 2018 Bear Point Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2018 vintage in Sonoma County was widely considered exceptional. A cool, wet spring delayed budbreak and set up a long, slow ripening season. Warm summer days paired with cool nights preserved acidity and aromatics, while extended hang time allowed Cabernet Sauvignon to develop phenolic depth, color concentration, and fine tannin structure. The result was fruit of outstanding balance, producing wines with intensity, freshness, and impressive aging potential.

Tasting Notes & Serving Suggestions:
The 2018 Stonestreet Bear Point Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful yet elegant expression of Alexander Mountain Estate fruit. Aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, and plum unfold alongside notes of cedar, graphite, and violet. On the palate, it delivers layers of dark berry compote, espresso, and cocoa nibs, balanced by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long and complex, with lingering hints of tobacco leaf, spice, and crushed stone minerality.
Serve at 17–18°C (63–65°F) in large Bordeaux-style glasses to enhance its complexity and depth. Decant for 1.5 to 2 hours when young to fully express its aromatics and soften its structure. Ideal pairings include grilled ribeye steak, braised short ribs, herb-crusted lamb, or aged blue cheese. This wine will reward patience and can be cellared for 15–20 years.
