Stroppiano 2020 Leonardo Barolo

This wine is 100 % Nebbiolo from plots in La Morra and Verduno, planted between 1996 and 2000. Soils are medium clayey. Grapes are harvested mid-October, fermented on the skins 10–15 days with careful pumpovers, then aged 24 months in large French oak casks, followed by resting in steel before bottling.

Ruby red with garnet highlights, the nose is intense: forest floor, wild cherry, floral notes, tobacco, and spice. The palate is dry and warm, velvety yet full-bodied, marrying elegance with depth and harmony.
The wine will benefit from a few more years of aging, but can be decanted and approached now. Best enjoyed 2027 onward.
