Cadenhead Ben Nevis 13 Year Old

Cadenhead’s Ben Nevis 13 Year Old is a 2026 independent release from the bottler’s Original Collection. Distilled in 2012, it matured for 13 years across bourbon and Oloroso hogsheads before being bottled in May 2026 at 46% ABV. Cadenhead’s lists the release as available worldwide.

The combination of casks is particularly well suited to Ben Nevis. Bourbon oak provides a sweeter, brighter foundation, while Oloroso brings dried fruit, nuts, cocoa and spice. One contemporary retailer involved with the release reports the composition as approximately 25% bourbon and 75% Oloroso maturation, giving the sherry component the larger role without completely covering the distillery character.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Biscotti and traditional clootie dumpling bring sweet pastry and dried-fruit character, followed by apricot marmalade and fresh ginger.

Palate: Richer and creamier, with chocolate-and-walnut confectionery, golden syrup and cardamom buns. Sweetness and baking spice sit alongside Ben Nevis’ substantial malt character.

Finish: Hazelnut and cocoa turn gradually darker and fruitier, finishing on blackcurrant with a lightly drying, nutty edge.
