Mayu Gran Reserva Syrah

Viña Mayu is located in Chile’s Elqui Valley, one of the northernmost wine regions in the country. Known for its extreme conditions—intense sunlight, minimal rainfall, and significant temperature variation between day and night—the region produces wines with both concentration and freshness.

Syrah thrives in this environment, developing ripe fruit flavours alongside natural acidity and aromatic complexity. The Gran Reserva designation reflects a more concentrated, premium style, with fruit sourced from carefully selected vineyard sites.

Fermentation is typically carried out in stainless steel, followed by ageing in French oak barrels (a portion new) to enhance structure, texture, and layers of spice. The result is a wine that balances power with elegance.

Colour: Deep ruby with purple hues
Nose: Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and plum, with notes of black pepper, spice, and subtle floral tones
Palate: Medium- to full-bodied, with concentrated dark fruit, smooth tannins, and balanced acidity; flavours of spice, cocoa, and light oak add depth
Finish: Long and persistent, with lingering fruit, spice, and a touch of minerality

Enjoy now with decanting or cellar for 5–8 years to allow further development.
Pairs well with grilled meats, lamb, and barbecue, as well as roasted vegetables and hearty dishes. Also complements dishes with spice and bold flavours.
