Cambria Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir

Cambria Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir

This Pinot is intense, juicy and fragrant with pink rose petals and blue florals on the nose, and vibrant with strawberry, raspberry, plum and dried wild herbs on the palate. Very elegant, enjoy it through 2030.Β - Natalie MacLean

Cambria 2021 Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir

The 2021 growing season in Santa Maria Valley was exceptionally balanced, marked by mild temperatures and a long, slow ripening period. Cooler-than-average weather throughout the season allowed for extended hang time, preserving acidity and aromatic complexity while achieving phenolic ripeness. These conditions are ideal for Pinot Noir, especially in Julia’s Vineyard, which benefits from ocean-influenced breezes and well-drained sandy loam soils.

Tasting Notes & Serving Suggestions:
Fragrant notes of raspberry, cranberry, rose petal, and dried thyme, followed by undertones of black tea, earth, and a touch of toasty oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, showcasing vibrant red berry flavors with hints of mushroom, clove, and crushed stone minerality. The acidity is bright and well-integrated, with soft tannins leading to a long, graceful finish marked by notes of pomegranate, cedar, and forest floor.
Serve slightly cool, around 15–16Β°C (59–61Β°F), in Burgundy-style glasses to enhance its aromatics and texture. Decanting for 30 minutes can help open up the wine’s delicate floral and spice notes. This Pinot pairs beautifully with duck breast, salmon, roast chicken, or mushroom risotto, and also complements herbed lentils, beet salad, or truffle pasta. Drink now for its vibrancy or cellar for 5–8 years to enjoy evolving earthy and savory nuances.
