The year is 1990, Sinéad OConnor is making everyones sad montage moments with Nothing Compares 2 U, and this spectacular single malt from Glenfarclas is being distilled. It matured in a single sherry butt, and the whisky was bottled in 2022 for the summer release of The Family Casks series. Only 543 bottles of this one, at 51.3% abv- Master of Malt Nose: The Scotch has a complex nose. He smells superficially intense after sherry. Dark cherries with currants provide fruitiness. Dates and honey add sweetness. Behind it lies leather and dark chocolate. Tasting: The Glenfarclas Family Casks 1990 Cask 5125 is full-bodied on the tongue. It tastes of cherries and wild berries. Chocolate penetrates and brings the spice of wood with it. Finish: The finish is long-lasting. The single cask whiskey says goodbye with sherry and spices. Dark bittersweet chocolate lasts a long time after drinking.
