J Christopher 2014 Eola Amity Hills Pinot Noir

The climate vin the Willamette Valley; and particularly in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, is marked by a warm but balanced growing season. Early summer heatwaves were followed by ideal ripening conditions, with cool nights and a dry harvest window, preserving natural acidity and aromatic lift. The resulting wines show concentration, purity, and finesse, making these some of the standout recent vintages for Oregon Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes:
The 2021 J. Christopher Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir is precise, vibrant, and deeply expressive of its cool-climate origins. The nose opens with lifted aromas of red cherry, cranberry, and rose petals, followed by subtle hints of clove, forest floor, and minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and structured, showcasing bright red berry fruit, orange peel, and savory notes of dried herbs and tea leaf. Fresh acidity and fine tannins give the wine tension and elegance, with a long, energetic finish.

Serving Suggestions:
5–16°C (59–61°F) in Burgundy-style glasses to enhance its finesse and floral notes. Decanting for 30–45 minutes can help open up the aromatics if enjoyed young. Ideal pairings include grilled salmon, duck breast, roast chicken with herbs, or mushroom risotto. Drink now or cellar for 7–10 years to see its savory and earthy elements evolve.
