La Storia 2022 Petite Sirah

La Storia 2022 Petite Sirah

Dense, ripe and rich, this inky-dark, dramatic wine is saturated in blackberries and boysenberries wrapped in thick, soft tannins that coat the mouth. While full-bodied and tannic, it's still velvety in texture and easy to sip. - Wine Enthusiast

La Storia 2021 Petite Sirah

The 2021 vintage in Sonoma was marked by low yields due to drought conditions, but the smaller crop produced exceptionally concentrated and flavorful fruit. Warm, dry weather throughout the summer ensured full ripeness, while cool evenings preserved acidity. For Petite Sirah in Alexander Valley, these conditions led to intense color, deep flavor concentration, and firm but well-structured tannins, making the wines powerful yet balanced.

Tasting Notes & Serving Suggestions:
Bold, inky, and deeply flavored. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry compote, and black plum are layered with violet, dark chocolate, and peppercorn spice. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, offering dense flavors of ripe black fruits, espresso, and molasses, supported by firm, chewy tannins. A touch of vanilla and smoky oak lingers on the long, mouthcoating finish.
Serve at 17–18°C (63–65°F) in large Bordeaux-style glasses to handle its power and open its aromatics. Decant for 1–2 hours when young to soften tannins. Best paired with slow-braised short ribs, grilled ribeye, smoky barbecue brisket, or aged Gouda. This wine will reward patient cellaring for 10–15 years, developing more savory, earthy complexity over time.
