Croix Montjoie 2022 Vezelay Volupteuse Bourgogne Blanc

Founded in 2009 by Sophie and Matthieu Woillez, Domaine La Croix Montjoie farms 15 hectares around Tharoiseau, overlooking Vézelay. The vineyards are planted primarily to Chardonnay on stony clay-limestone soils, with south and southeast-facing slopes and a cool continental climate. The estate is certified organic.

La Voluptueuse is the domaine’s fuller, more barrel-driven style of Vézelay. The 2022 is 100% Chardonnay, hand harvested and gently pressed, with alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrel. It spends 12 months on fine lees in barrel, including 20% new oak, adding texture and complexity without losing freshness.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Bright golden yellow.

Nose: Orange blossom, citrus, brioche and butter with subtle vanilla and toasted oak.

Palate: Full and creamy, with ripe citrus and orchard fruit balanced by fresh acidity and fine mineral tension.

Finish: Long and rounded, with lingering citrus, gentle oak and a clean mineral edge.
