Francois Lurton Hacienda Araucano 2016 Alka Carmenere

Hacienda Araucano is François Lurton’s Chilean estate in Lolol, Colchagua Valley, established after he identified the area’s cool, ocean-influenced climate and granite-rich soils as particularly promising. The estate has become known for organic and biodynamic farming, with its Lolol vineyard serving as Lurton’s pilot site for these practices. Alka is 100% Carménère, sourced from Apalta’s alluvial terraces and Lolol’s granitic coastal soils.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep, bright cherry red.

Nose: Blackberry and blackcurrant with eucalyptus, black pepper and cinnamon.

Palate: Full and concentrated, with ripe dark fruit, supple tannins and balanced acidity.

Finish: Long and complex, with plum preserve, spice and lingering savoury notes.
