Jean Luc Colombo 2021 Cornas Terres Brulees

Jean-Luc Colombo has been one of the key modern figures in the Rhône Valley since establishing his estate in Cornas in the 1980s. Known for combining traditional Rhône terroir expression with refined winemaking techniques, Colombo helped revitalize the Cornas appellation and elevate its international reputation. Today, the family estate continues under the direction of his daughter, Laure Colombo, with a strong focus on sustainable and organic vineyard practices.
The 2021 growing season in the Northern Rhône delivered wines with freshness, aromatic lift, and balanced alcohol levels, resulting in a more classic and structured expression of Cornas with excellent aging potential.

Colour:
Deep ruby to inky purple with vibrant violet reflections.

Nose:
Complex aromas of blackberry, cassis, black cherry, violet, smoked herbs, licorice, cocoa, and cracked pepper with subtle earthy and mineral nuances.

Palate:
Full-bodied and structured with concentrated dark fruit flavours, firm yet polished tannins, and layers of spice, graphite, terracotta, and savoury herbs. The granite terroir contributes notable freshness and mineral tension beneath the wine’s richness.

Finish:
Long, refined, and persistent with lingering dark fruit, spice, smoke, and mineral notes.
