Purlieu 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper

Purlieu is the Napa Valley project of French-born winemaker Julien Fayard, whose background includes work at Château Lafite Rothschild, Quintessa, and Atelier Melka. The winery focuses on limited-production, vineyard-designate Cabernet Sauvignon wines sourced from some of Napa Valley’s most prestigious sites.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep garnet-purple with dense ruby reflections

Nose: Aromas of crème de cassis, blackberry, dark plum, and blueberry layered with espresso, smoked tobacco, cocoa, violet, sage, and graphite notes.

Palate: Full-bodied and opulent, with concentrated black fruit flavours, mocha, dark chocolate, and spice supported by muscular yet fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Layers of nutmeg, kola nut, herbs, and earthy minerality add complexity and depth.

Finish: Exceptionally long and structured, with lingering blackcurrant, espresso, cocoa, and savoury mineral notes.
