Chateau Hauts de Granget 2018 St Emilion Grand Cru

The 2018 vintage on the plateau of Saint‑Émilion in Bordeaux benefitted from a season that started wet but warmed up mid-year, yielding ripe fruit under good conditions. The wine is a Merlot-dominated blend (approximately 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc). After harvest the fruit goes through careful vinification (gravity-flow, temperature-controlled, 25-30 day maceration) then is aged in French oak barrels for about 12 months.

On the nose, expect ripe black cherry and blueberry fruit, cedar and cinnamon spice, with subtle tobacco or forest-floor and mineral undertones. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied with fine-grained tannins, good freshness from the Cabernet Franc, and a generous but structured fruit core. The finish is long, with lingering dark fruit, spice and a mineral thread.
