Corte de Viento 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino

Corte de Viento 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino

A savory, umami nose of fresh earth, black pepper and balsamic gets a spark of sweetness from undertones of cherry and strawberry. Fruit leads the way on the palate, crack of black pepper, and more earth and herbs strike balance. Vibrant acid and toothsome tannins. - Wine Enthusiast

Corte de Viento 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino

$85.99

Corte de Viento 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino

Corte dei Venti 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is produced from 100% Sangiovese grown in the warmer southern sector of the Montalcino appellation, where sunny conditions and mineral-rich soils encourage ripeness while preserving freshness. The 2018 vintage is widely regarded as a classic, elegant year, emphasizing balance and aromatic detail. After fermentation, the wine undergoes traditional aging for approximately 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by extended bottle maturation before release. This patient approach allows the wine to develop complexity while maintaining the purity and structure characteristic of Brunello.

Tasting Notes:
Bright ruby with subtle garnet reflections, the wine opens with aromas of ripe cherry, strawberry, and wild berries layered with notes of black pepper, balsamic, tobacco, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with a silky texture, combining vibrant red fruit with earthy nuances of espresso and tilled soil. Firm yet refined tannins and lively acidity support a long, persistent finish marked by mineral and savoury depth.

Drinking Window:
While approachable now (recommended to decant 4–5 hours ahead), it has an estimated aging potential of up to 20 years, with an optimal drinking window between 2023 and 2042.
