Jaboulet 2021 Hermitage Le Maison Bleu

This cuvée is made from 100% Syrah vines planted between 1955 and 1994 on the eastern side of the Hermitage hill, planted at roughly 190 m elevation in deeper alluvial soils linked to Rhône river terraces. The vineyard is managed under organic certification, and since 2021 moving toward regenerative practices. The 2021 vintage featured a cooler, wetter season with a delayed veraison, leading to well-balanced fruit with good aromatic expression.

The colour is deep ruby to purple. On the nose you’ll find morello cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, and red currant, with floral lifts of rose-petal and violet, alongside subtle pepper and a hint of leather. On the palate the wine shows medium-to-full body, silky yet firm tannins, a fresh spine, and a layered finish marked by sweet spice and minerality.
