Mauro Molino Barbera d'Alba

Mauro Molino Barbera d'Alba

An array of blue and purple floral aromas leaps from the glass quickly followed by sour plum and mixed spices on this plump and juicy Barbera. Round and plush on the palate with notes of black cherry and dried currants finishing with savory herbs and spices. - Wine Enthusiast

Mauro Molino Barbera d'Alba

Sourced from vineyards around La Morra and Barolo in Piedmont, this Barbera benefits from calcareous-clay soils and a continental climate with warm days and cool nights. These conditions enhance fruit concentration while maintaining the variety’s hallmark lively acidity. In recent vintages, well-timed rainfall and steady ripening have resulted in balanced, aromatic wines with generous fruit and freshness, perfectly reflecting Molino’s elegant, terroir-driven style.

Tasting Notes & Serving Suggestions:
A vibrant and fruit-driven profile, opening with aromas of red cherry, ripe raspberry, and wild strawberry, accented by hints of violet, spice, and a touch of earthiness. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, showcasing flavors of juicy plum, cranberry, and pomegranate, supported by bright acidity and supple tannins. The finish is clean and persistent, with subtle notes of dried herbs and minerality.
Serve slightly cool, at 16–17Β°C (60–63Β°F), in medium-sized red wine glasses to highlight its aromatic lift and juicy character. It pairs beautifully with pasta al ragΓΉ, grilled sausages, roast chicken, or pizza with cured meats. Enjoy now for its freshness and vibrancy, but it can be cellared for 4–6 years
