Tasting Notes

Nose: An inviting blend of cracked black pepper, cigar box, and sage introduces this expression. Additional layers reveal rich maltiness with hints of stewed apples, mango, and a subtle farmyard character reminiscent of silage and pot ale. 

Palate: The mouthfeel is notably thick and oily, delivering flavors of shortbread and salted caramel, complemented by herbal notes of basil. There's a presence of smoked barley husks, a touch of medicinal character, and a pinch of pepper, leading to nuances of quinces and brine.

Finish: Long and sweet, with pronounced notes of toffee and a gradually building smokiness that lingers pleasantly.

Cask Maturation: 50% ex-bourbon casks, 50% ex-sherry casks

Barley Variety: Bere barley, cultivated at High Ranachan Farm, approximately two miles from the distillery

Release Details: Limited to 13,500 bottles, bottled in 2024
