Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Japanese Whisky

It has been elected Japanese Whisky of the Year in Jim Murrays Whisky Bible 2020. Following on from Nikka’s bombshell that they would be discontinuing their Taketsuru age-statement range of whiskies, the drinks giant announced that they would be releasing a limited number of bottles of a new Taketsuru Pure Malt NAS expression. This exciting new whisky will replace the previous NAS Taketsuru Pure Malt.Made with a larger portion of malt from Nikka’s Yoichi distillery than they previous version, this new Taketsuru Pure Malt makes for a smokier, heavier and fuller whisky. Given the success of other whiskies in the Taketsuru range, we expect this one to be popular with fans and critics alike, it might not last long.
