High West The Prisoner's Share

Produced by High West Distillery in Park City, Utah, The Prisoner’s Share is a collaboration with The Prisoner Wine Company of Napa Valley. First released in 2022, the whiskey is crafted from a blend of straight bourbons and straight rye whiskeys sourced from multiple mash bills, including both High West distillate and carefully selected partner distilleries. The blend is then finished in French oak barrels that previously held The Prisoner Red Blend wine, allowing the whiskey to develop layers of dark fruit, spice, and tannic structure.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Bright aromas of raspberry preserves, dark cherry, pomegranate, orange zest, cinnamon bark, pecan brittle, vanilla, and light espresso mingle with subtle French oak and leather notes.

Palate: Rich and velvety with layers of strawberry jam, Montmorency cherry, plum, dark chocolate, brown butter caramel, roasted chestnuts, baking spice, and rye pepper balanced by wine-soaked fruit sweetness.

Finish: Long and elegant with lingering black currant jam, toasted oak, dark fruit, gentle tannins, and warming rye spice.
