Notton Chablis 1er Cru Vaucoupin

Notton Chablis 1er Cru Vaucoupin

The wine has a pale lemon-yellow color. The nose is ripe and fruity, with a subtle mineral structure. It expresses notes of ripe yellow lemon, candied lemon peel, fresh green and yellow apple, orange zest, apricot, yellow peach, a touch of orange blossom, apple blossom, and a delicate hint of green mango in the background. - VertdeVin

Notton Chablis 2022/23 1er Cru Vaucoupin

Domaine Laurent & Céline Notton is a family-run estate based in Chablis, focused on traditional vineyard management and terroir expression. Their Premier Cru Vaucoupin comes from vineyards in the commune of Chichée on the right bank of the Serein River, a south-facing site known for producing wines with both ripeness and strong mineral tension.
The Vaucoupin climat is planted on classic Kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils rich in fossilized marine material, contributing to the wine’s hallmark saline minerality and structure. The site’s shallow soils and strong sun exposure typically result in naturally lower yields and concentrated fruit.
The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks following pneumatic pressing and settling

Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale gold with green reflections

Nose: Fresh and mineral, with aromas of lemon, white flowers, citrus zest, and subtle saline notes; some vintages show hints of brioche and orchard fruit.

Palate: Medium-bodied and energetic, with bright acidity, concentrated citrus and orchard fruit flavours, and a pronounced mineral backbone. The wine combines ripe fruit with tension and precision typical of Premier Cru Chablis.

Finish: Long and refined, with lingering saline minerality, citrus, and crisp acidity.

Cellaring & Pairings
