Penfolds, established in 1844, is one of Australia’s most iconic wine producers, known for its blending philosophy that combines fruit from multiple regions to achieve balance and house style consistency. The Koonunga Hill range, first released in 1976, represents an accessible tier within the portfolio, offering reliable quality and varietal expression.

The Shiraz Cabernet blend combines two of Australia’s signature varieties, with Shiraz contributing richness and spice, and Cabernet Sauvignon adding structure and backbone. Fruit is typically sourced from various South Australian regions, including Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and others, depending on the vintage.

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by maturation in a combination of seasoned oak to add subtle complexity while maintaining a fruit-forward profile.
