UKO Select Malbec/Cab Sauv Blend

Founded in 2006, UKO Wines focuses on high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley, particularly Paraje Altamira and La Consulta. The vineyards sit around 1,050–1,100 metres elevation, where sandy soils, river stones and significant limestone deposits help produce concentrated fruit with freshness and mineral character.

The Select Vineyards Red Blend combines 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Malbec. Fruit is hand harvested and fermented before the finished blend spends approximately 8–10 months in French oak, largely second- and third-use barrels, adding spice and complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Bright, intense ruby red.

Nose: Plum, cassis, raspberry and ripe berries with pepper and mint, followed by clove, vanilla, leather, tobacco and chocolate.

Palate: Generous and smooth, with ripe dark fruit, soft texture and polished, lightly sweet tannins.

Finish: Long and balanced, with lingering berry fruit, spice and subtle oak.
