Pianirossi Sidus

Pianirossi is an estate located in Maremma, on Tuscany’s southern coast, an area increasingly recognized for producing high-quality red wines with both richness and freshness. The region benefits from abundant sunshine moderated by Mediterranean breezes, allowing grapes to achieve full ripeness while maintaining balance.

β€œSidus” is typically a Bordeaux-inspired blend, often based around varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, or Montepulciano depending on the vintage. The estate focuses on low yields and careful vineyard management to produce concentrated fruit with refined structure.

Fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled tanks with gentle extraction, followed by ageing in French oak barrels to integrate tannins and build complexity. The resulting style combines Tuscan freshness with international polish and depth.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep ruby with garnet hues
Nose: Aromas of blackberry, plum, and black cherry, with notes of cedar, cocoa, spice, and Mediterranean herbs
Palate: Medium- to full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit flavours, smooth tannins, and balanced acidity; layers of chocolate, tobacco, and oak spice add depth
Finish: Long and refined, with lingering fruit, savoury herbs, and subtle mineral notes

Cellaring & Pairings
Enjoy now with decanting or cellar for 6–10 years to allow further integration and development.
Pairs well with grilled steak, lamb, and braised meats. Also complements rich pasta dishes, mushroom-based cuisine, and aged cheeses.
